About Sherry

This blog is written by Dr. Sherry Pagoto, a licensed clinical psychologist and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. My expertise is in obesity, nutrition, fitness, depression, stress, cancer prevention, and type 2 diabetes. I have been continuously funded by the NIH and/or CDC for 10 years and have published 95 papers in scientific journals including JAMA, NEJM, Obesity, JAMA Internal Medicine, American Journal of Preventive Medicine, American Journal of Public Health, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, among many others. I have also published several book chapters and am editor of a book titled Psychological Co-Morbidities of Physical Illness (Springer, 2011). I am on the Board of Directors of the Society of Behavioral Medicine (SBM) and the Chair of the SBM Public Policy Leadership Group.
